Not much is known about panic attacks and many people arent convinced they exist until they have one. It can be difficult to know what you can do about them, but here are some solid steps you can take to make sure you can handle these attacks when they occur.

Some processed foods, and many fast food items, can actually trigger panic attacks. I wont name the company, but there is a type of fried chicken that would cause my heart to start palpitating within 30 minutes of eating it! Stick to wholesome, fresh foods you prepare yourself to avoid an attack.

Stay positive during a panic attack! Think about the people you love and how luck you are to have them in your life. Remember your favorite foods, or the places you love to visit, and take your mind there. Think of some awesome things that have happened to you and remember how they felt. Your attack will pass in no time!

Try to look at what is happening to you during a panic attack and focus on reality. Either speak out loud or grab a pen and paper and start to clinically describe the situation at hand. Dont look at anything that is fear-related as its probably not real anyway. Just focus on your body.

Are there times in which your panic attacks do not end? Remember that you are in control of your own destiny and panic attacks can be controlled just like anything else.

An excellent exercise to try during a panic attack is to move in slow motion. Perform every action with deliberate thoughts and in the minutest detail. Slow down all of your movements and try to slow down your breathing as well. Concentrate on what youre doing to the point that you hear nothing else.

Exercise

To cut down on the amount of stress that someone feels they should increase the amount of exercise that they do. Stress is one of the leading causes of panic attacks. If someone can rid their lives of stress, they will be able to have less panic attacks and enjoy their lives more.

Exercising on a regular basis can help you to control the amount of panic attacks you have. Panic attacks often come from a build up of stress. Exercise has proven to be a great stress reliever and can help to cut back on the number of panic attacks you have.

Making certain changes to your lifestyle can reduce your risk of having another panic attack. Panic attacks are characterized by surges of adrenalin. By engaging in regular exercise, you can safely burn off any excess adrenaline. Cigarette and alcohol use should be eliminated or severely restricted. Reduce the sugar and processed foods in your diet and eat regular, well-balanced meals. A healthy body and a healthy mind often go hand in hand.

Nutrition

Poor nutrition is a great way to to ensure the chemicals in your body are imbalanced and your anxiety takes control. Keep panic attacks away by eating properly at least five times a day so that you dont feel hungry and you do take control of your life, at least as far as your eating habits.

Having a panic attack can be a bit scary, but when you have the tips above, it can be a little easier. Make sure to try each step when you have an attack to see which method works best for you. Find one that helps and finally feel a little better.
